How to build traffic
- free ways
Traffic is the lifeblood of your site. No traffic means no
visitors - no point in creating and maintaining your site.
Several traffic building systems can bring new visitors to you.
I tried a few - here are the most effective ones I found.
These are different types of systems that you can easily combine.
Secrets Of the Big Dogs had me cringing from the moment I first saw it. The title didn't help and the wild colours were incredible. A few weeks later, I asked a friend what his best traffic generation system was. He told me he received 1600 hits from implementing the Big Dogs programs and he was also selling almost one copy every day.
NoMoreHits
is easy to set up and use. The idea is to set your Home page to the NoMoreHits redirect page. Each time you view a page from another site, you get one point. For each 2 points you generate, they send someone to your page. This is a free service, plus you can buy traffic - 1,000 credits costs $40. This may be worthwhile, but remember that your offer may be the same as many others and the target audience is other people who want to make money. New people signup all the time, so there will always be new prospects, but I recommend improving or changing your page regularly.
Startblaze
is easy to set up and use. At first glance, it seems that you need to do a lot of work to get referrals.
The compounding effect of introducing others makes it build up faster than other systems.
I noticed that the number of different offers seems more than in NoMoreHits.
Startblaze expands when you tell your friends and relatives about it, so even if they don't have a site of their own, you can ask them to refer to your site.
All they need to do is set a new Home page, let it load and then do whatever else they want to do.
Every sixth time they load their browser, you get an extra visitor. If your friend is also
referring to your site, you get two.
A traffic generator I don't like is TrafficG. It acts like NoMoreHits, but expands the browser window to take over your whole screen. It is very annoying and stops you from doing something else while it loads.
Linkscout is an interesting product that combines a directory and pay-per-click system. It has an affiliate program that builds your click credits.
LinkScout bundles multiple traffic generation systems into one package.
Free For All links (FFAs) are personal pages that thousands of people read every day. You create an advertisement for your product, service LinkScout sends it to thousands of readers. I never really thought this was useful, but it actually works.
LinkScout has free and paid membership options. The free version provides basic service and I recommend you start with that because it takes time to understand all the parts. The paid option is much more usefil because it lets you add banners and send many more ads. The paid option is also a time saver because it keeps all your submissions so they are easily refreshed and sent again. I use and recommend the paid option.
Links2U is a powerful directory program with free and GOLD membership options.
You submit your link the over 2 million directories. It depends on you writing a good offer and promoting it in the right places. Links2U sends your link and handles any bounced emails and unsubscribe requests. A friend of mine had 1500 people join his MLM program in the first month, using links2U GOLD. You can also promote the program itself and get 50% commission. I have used the free version and it works. This program is slightly more expensive than LinkScout, with less functionality overall, but more access in the FFA area.
Downline Clubs / Affiliate Programs
There are many Affiliate Programs and Downline Clubs available on the Web now.
Some are good for those who know the ropes, some are good for those who need guidance and some are good for nothing.
5Pillar Affiliate Program builds on the success of Ken Evoy's Make your Site Sell book. There are 5 books in the series, all beautifully written and well laid-out. They are available separately and cover making your site sell, copywriting, setting up your web site, making money on eBay and writing eBooks. The 5 Pillar Affiliate Program lets affiliates offer all the products and gives access to the Site Build-it site builder. Previews of the prducts are available for free download, packaged as the "Masters" series. Every Affiliate should have a copy of the books, starting with the free products. The amazing thing about the 5Pillar program is that it is free to join.
Six Figure Income (SFI) is a professional-looking program. It is supposed to be a steady but sure system that will teach you all about marketing and provides lots of help. SFI is based on the sale of Marketing and Motivation products. It has a nice interface, consistent information and easy-to-understand steps. The only problem so far is that the payments exceed the profits, even for those with big downlines. This may change as more people qualify for payments, but the straight downline system doesn't work well, as far as I can tell.
Moneylegs Network Development Club
touts itself as an Affiliate Marketing Training Program. One downline gives you access to over 20 programs.
If a new program is introduced, your whole downline can be added automatically.
They say the training courses help you expand. I found this to be a confusing system that could be better organized. There were too many components and too many disconnects between parts.
